Three years from now, the island of St. Martin will be rebuilt. New infrastructure, as well as commercial and residential buildings, all designed and constructed with updated hurricane resistant building codes, will be complete.
The former La Belle Creole Hotel, damaged by Hurricane Luis in 1995 and never reopened, represents the island’s premier resort location. Zoning and entitlements are in hand. The government will facilitate the project. French banks have approved the injection of equity and debt financing for redevelopment. Building permits are ready to pull.
For the creative and visionary developer this site is a blank canvas. What a difference three years will make!
